THE QUICK DROP

The Quick Drop is our mid-week follow-up - no deep dive, no article. Just what we heard, what we're adding, and what goes deeper.

One Crash. Different Causes.

We heard from you after Tuesday.

Most of you tried the breakfast swap. Some felt it by Wednesday. A few wrote back to say it helped, but not completely. And a handful said nothing changed.

That's not failure. That's information.

The 4 PM crash is real and the science is solid but it isn't one thing. It's a pattern. And patterns have different roots depending on what's already happening in your body before breakfast starts.

Three questions. One minute. Answer honestly.

Did the breakfast swap help at all?

Yes, noticeably → you're on the right track. Keep going. The note below on what to stack next is for you.

Somewhat, but the crash still comes → your blood sugar is more stable but something else is driving the dip. Keep reading.

No difference at all → the root isn't breakfast. Something upstream is dysregulated. This matters.

When exactly does the crash hit?

Before 3 PM → this is blood sugar more than cortisol. Your lunch needs more protein and fat. Breakfast alone won't hold you.

Right at 4 PM → classic cortisol curve. You're in exactly the right place.

After 5 PM → less about food, more about nervous system load. You've been running on stress hormones all day and they're finally running out. This is where we reach for an adaptogen blend over a snack — something that supports the stress response rather than masking it with another blood sugar hit.

Is it energy you're losing, or mood?

Mostly energy → food is your primary lever. Stay here.

Mostly mood — irritable, low, anxious → cortisol meeting blood sugar. Food helps but it's one piece. The other piece is what you're doing to support your stress response before it hits — magnesium, adaptogens, sleep. Not optimization. Triage.

Both, and it's been this way for months → this is worth taking seriously. This isn't a newsletter fix.

Fat, Protein, No Spike

If you made it to that last line and felt seen , reply to this email. CMC offers culinary sessions with Manuela. Not a meal plan. Not a protocol. A real conversation about what you're eating, what your body is doing with it, and what to change first.

And if you haven't tried the Green Avocado Smoothie Bowl from last Tuesday yet , that's your weekend. Designed specifically for the afternoon window. Fat, protein, no spike. Recipe in Issue No. 1, link below.

See you next Tuesday.
